First time putting together a competitive team.

Need help putting one together. Not sure of of all the pokemon in team yet, but I was hoping to build the team around Gengar and Charizard Y. Any help and advice would be appreciated thanks.

First thing you gonna need is something to take away stealth rocks for charizard to enter the field
Good choices with rapid spin are tentacruel, mold breaker excadrill or avalugg
or you can use defog users but not recommended since they have stealth rock weakness and will take 25% off upon entry
you also gonna need entry hazards of your own tentacruel does great job at that while being ur rapid spinner or u can get something like mamoswine so it can be your dragon killer
Chlorophyll venusaur is also very strong under the sun OP even if u have hidden power fire on it

trevenant or aegislash

Looks pretty solid
harvest trevenant > aegislash under sun
but not using a chlorophyll user under the sun is kind of a waste if u using charizard y its like not using a swift swimmer under the rain

Excadrill u just need 1 hazard remover
U have to build tanky scizor with lefties if u want it to be utility or it just gets popped
