So the sad news has hit me, I have not been invited to the Diablo III Beta. Because of this, I need something to fill the void. Last week, I attempted the Nuzlocke Challenge in the original Pokemon Red. That ended in disaster very early on. Live and learn I suppose! Now, I shall attempt to face this challenge once more, and hopefully be more successful than my first try! For those of you who don't know what the Nuzlocke Challenge is, it is a Pokemon game playthrough in which certain rules apply. I have tailored my rules to be as difficult as possible for my own tastes.
The rules are as follows:- Any Pokemon Who Faints Is Considered Dead And Must Be Released
- Each Newly Acquired Pokemon Must Be Nicknamed To Increase The Heartbreak Should He Die
- Only One Ball Can Be Bought At Each PokeMart
- The Only Pokemon Eligable For Capture Are The First Ones Encounterd In A New Area
- If The First Pokemon Encountered In A New Area Faints Or Flees, Then A New One Cannot Be Captured Until The Next Area Is Reached
- A "New Area" By My Definition Is Any Place Between Two Towns (A Cave Also Constitutes A "New Area")
- The Only Medicine That Can Be Bought From A PokeMart Are Antidotes
- All Items Found Out In The World Are Fair To Be Used At Any Time
- No Pokemon Can Be Used If Bought Or Traded For
- (I May Add Rules As I Think Of Them, So If You Can Think Of Any Please Let Me Know!)
This time around, I have decided to begin with a Bulbasaur, instead of Charmander like for my first attempt. I have decided to name my character Joe once more. This is my real name so I can immerse myself in the game as much as possible. My rival this time around is getting the name Spencer,after my dog, the only living thing that I actually miss when being away at college. My Bulbasaur will be given the name Tyrael, in honor of the omnipotent archangel in Diablo, the game I am so anxiously awaiting for.
And so the journey begins as I set off from home to fight my way through dangers and peril in the ultimate quest to be the ultimate Pokemon Master! I shall update this thread as soon as something significant happens!
