I only bought 17 packs today at sheetz, and pulled 2 Charizard EX Gold's from Obsidian Flame packs. Along with a couple other super valuable cards.
Why do the charizards seem too common?

They change the pull rates in the Scarlet & Violet set. They want to make sure everyone can pull the cards instead of it being a lottery.

So you mean to tell me, buy older stuff if you want something actually rare? Lol

If you want to play the Pokemon card lottery, you have to buy the older stuff or get Japanese cards. Japanese cards have better quality control, so you are much likely to get a PSA 9 or 10 instead of the US cards where most cards are poorly off-centered and have whitenings on the corners.

I got really lucky with some cards, I genuinely think they will land 9s and 10s. I recently bought an XY evolutions booster box for around $800 to get that nostalgia. And those cards are somewhat valuable if you can get them graded high.

You also have to look at the back of the card to see if it's centered too.
