Played a couple rounds, interface is pretty well constructed, I think there should def be some traffic on JSP once the full version comes out.

I haven't bought any cards myself and I have over 700 cards.

Once you get used to the site, its really not confusing at all.

I have a few questions about this game.

1) Are extra cards/booster only earned if you buy them from the store?
2) What are the prices of boosters? Is it retail like in MTGO?

What I'm after is... do you have to really fork out real money in order to increase your collection? If that's the case, I'd much rather play MTGO. You can at least enter tournaments there and earn more boosters.

as of right now, yes kind of. I mean if you make some friends they can give you cards and shit. But I haven't spend any money on the game myself and have an ok sized collection. But right now, the tournaments are not in the game. It is still only in beta after all. They have not introduced a lot of the things you will be using to earn more boosters and cards other than buying the boosters in stores. But on the other hand, you can go on eebay and purchase codes for new boosters for like only a dollar each or less.
