Also I've been freezing a lot less since turning my camera off. Still occasionally freeze when I catch something but a lot less often.

in my experience you'll get about get about 3 x as many pokeballs as you get great balls from pokestops. and when i got ultra balls i've been like 9x more regular pokeballs than ultra balls

Sure feels like it, got a 10km at maybe lvl5 that i hatched way later and the outcome was a very very low cp eevee.. I use to get close to max stats pokemon out of eggs, but maybe thats just luck?
