It seems like I live on a snorlax nest, and I have only seen 5 since launch. All inside my bedroom. I have caught a dratini from my room as well, but i dont think that really constitutes a nest.
Snorlax one of the best defenders. Very lucky.
However, (currently), Dragonite is better. Even if Dragonite is a worse defender, the best defense is having a higher CP Pokemon in a gym than another player. You can't stop players from taking a gym, but you can hope that your Pokemon doesn't get knocked out on the first or second round.
Still, snorlax is awesome. My favorite currently.
