I've never gotten into breeding before but maybe someone can help me out while I search around the interwebs.

My first goal is to get some good stats on a gastly with a good nature.
Do I just put Gastly and a Ditto into the daycare and wait?

I can't edit my post so sorry for double posting.

I have a little change of plans and I was wondering if I could get some help on how to achieve this.

I want to breed a boss Hydreigon and I want him to have Earth Power
The other way he learns Earth Power is through breeding with Gible or one of his evolutions.
I also want him to have the nature Modest.

How do I do this?
Does Hydreigon need to be male or female?
Does Gible need to be male or female?
Which of them need to have the nature Modest? (or is this just random once the egg hatches)
I'm assuming I need to teach Gible (or an evolution) Earth Power before I throw them into the daycare?
Is there anything else I should know?

lol nvm just noticed Gible only learns Earth Power by tutoring I thought he got it from tm for leveling.
Hydreigon can learn it the same way, I thought it was only through breeding.

So then I'm just left with the nature question.
is it just random?

the nature is all random, but its decided as soon as you pick up the egg. meaning u cant save and constantly rehatch the same egg hoping for a new nature.
