For real I didn't know and it work if it use Google fit don't you have to move to pickup km?

it give virtual km to your google fit and since google fit is link with your adventure sync it adds to your pokemon go km

so no u dont have to move

its great for buddy candy, hatcing eggs, and 100km weekly adventure sync rewards

since its not linked with pokemon go its 100% safe

to be more safe i turn it on with pogo close and turn it off when i want to open the game
