The ONLY possible slim chance you would ever have getting in trouble, is if you went ONLINE fighting people with Massively hacked mons like wondertomb or sturdy shedinja. Or going online with Pokemon that just are not physically possible. Like Shiny Solgaleo, Or 252 ALL evs, or things outside the games coding. And even then, PkHex and Powersaves wont allow you to trade, gts or battle with hacked guys, as Nintendos "hack checker" passes all shinies created correctly. Pokemon created Wrong will NOT trade, battle or Gts online. Ever. So if you run into this issue where you cant do anything with it, then you know its illegal and just delete it.
So no it's impossible to get in trouble and in 10 years have yet to meet anyone banned. The game straight up does not allow you to play online with hacks, and naturally, Nintendo can't scan your game offline
The day you show me someone who can fight me online with a wonderguard spiritomb, is the day ill retract what I said lol. But as I said, The games simply tell you no. You can start a battle, as in picking your guys, but it disconnects both of you (or all 4) the minute un usable pokemon are detected in anyones party. And Nintendo does not have time to go bounty hunting single people from all of Earth to ban peopleone by one
