It's certainly worth a lot more then $200 but I'm sure you're aware of that already :p

I think this may be debatable... As I was actually buying some Pokemon cards/looking at full set listings before Pokemon go and after. Has the actual value gone up? Eh not really BUT are people willing to pay more for certain cards since release? Absolutely.

I'm going by actual current bids/last sales - not just random postings with no buyers with interest.

Example... Before release it was common to see the booster packs for a reasonable price. Now people are actually shelling out 40+ per pack. That, imo, is insane and the jump went from what? 25-30 ish to 40+? After release. The app did have an effect in certain areas because demand of people wanting the nastalgic feeling of having those cars again shot up. I think the demand has since dwindled back down but last I checked the prices remained the same for now.

Note: that's just one example...

did you buy a full set? if so for how much? thinking about buying it lol

Pokemon cards aren't popular otherwise I would have been rich already. People and kids aren't playing the trading card game correctly, so there's not much value in it compared to Magic The Gathering. You do see high value pokemon cards on Ebay, but no one is buying them unless they are dirt cheap. If you see two people bidding on something, the seller probably has his friend help bid up the price. I haven't seen them host Pokemon Card tournaments anymore, since 1990 something or whatever was the last major one.

1990? Really?

Pokemon cards were released in 1996.

I don't remember the date... I said it was 1990 something. 98', 99' or even year 2000 that was a long fucking time ago.

It turns out they still host the tournaments. but it's not widely known by the fanbase http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/pokemon-events/pokemon-tournaments/ . I just looked this up... right now.

The players don't have sponsorship income to go out and buy those supposedly high value pokemon cards on *** The tournaments don't pay cash prizes. All they award is more pokemon cards.
