I believe there was another version called either purple or pink.
Something involved with Mew, anyhow.

i had always been informed that leaf green was a remake of green.

and i was also told that green was only different in the way that red/blue were.

those must be un official ROMS.

There are brown and orange aswell, which are a much difficult version of Red/Yellow/Blue

Green was only launched in japan. Its suposed to be the same as R/B/Y, but with diferent sprites and some new stuff, like ride a car. IMO it was not launched anywhere else because Nintendo thought that 3 similar games where enough (R/B/Y), thats why theres only a maximum of 3 games/generation.

[QUOTEQuote (Wikipedia)]Pokémon Red Version and Blue Version, originally released in Japan as Pocket Monsters: Red & Green (ポケットモンスター 赤・緑 Poketto Monsutā Aka Midori?), are role-playing games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy. They are the first installments to the Pokémon series. They were first released in Japan in 1996 as Red and Green, with Blue being released later in the year as a special edition. They were later released as Red and Blue in North America, Europe and Australia over the following three years. Pokémon Yellow, a special edition version, was released roughly a year later. Red and Blue have subsequently been remade for the Game Boy Advance as Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, released in 2004.[/QUOTE]
