I am going to have to start on pokemon Yellow (pikachu version) or pokemon gold (idk this one?)

I haven't played in 10+ years. Dusted off my old original gameboy and found my games. Works well so far.

What you guys think? If I remember correctly, yellow = blue and red just start with pikachu instead? Gold I didn't think I even owned...

To all who are thinking of joining in the fun, go for it!
I'd love some company to compare my efforts to.

Update time!
Gotten a decent way. I made it through nugget bridge with no problems. After my rival, everyone on there was easy. And what luck. The first wild pokemon was an Abra. I caught him and named him Cain, after the all knowing wise man of D2.

I immediately stopped leveling Magikarp and started training Cain. He very quickly evolved into a Kadabra. Here I decided to make things a lilttle easier and evolve him into an Alakazam by trading myself. I suppose under strict rules that wouldn't be allowed, but fuck if I care. Officer Jenny will need to see Nurse Joy if she gets in my face about the rules on this one.

Needless to say, at level 19 Cain was able to decimate Misty's Starmie, which I normally have a lot of trouble with.
And Red easily took down Staryu.

Life is good.

Zippo evolved and is now level 20.
Red is solid at level 20.
Saw 2 is lagging behind at 19.
Cain is 20.
And Pious (my Magikarp who will make you pray once he evolves) is at level 17. At level 18 I will use my two rare candies to speed up the process and allow it to train itself.

I also just acquired a VS Seeker, Old Rod and Bike Voucher.
I wonder what these are used for?

They were quite common when i was training there. The pokemon I was shocked about was the Pikachu. Whilst not nearly as rare as original red/blue versions, it's still about as rare as a metapod/kakuna.

I beat Urine S once more aboard the S.S. Anne. Red shocked Pidgeotto into submission. A quick switch to Saw 2 for Ratata and Pious for Kadabra. That left an angry Wartortle. Red was able to get off one quick Thunder Shock before getting hit in the low yellows. A safety switch to Cain and Wartortle was disbatched.
Pious finally evolved, and I had forgotten how slow Gyarados is to train. It seems to need so much more exp than any other pokemon.
I then went through diglett tunel to get the Flash HM. Diglett was the first to appear and I tried to capture it, but only having pokeballs I wanted to get it into the red so I would stand a chance. Apparently Pokemon doesn't want me to get through the lightning gym so easily this run though. Diglett feinted to a powerful bite from Pious.

Alas, I just beat LT. Surge.
Saw 2 was my only pokemon who could learn a rock move. I taught it the only rock tm I had, Rock Tomb, and spent a stupid amount of time training it to level 25 to prepare for the gym. Hours punching Ratata and even more time running back to a Pokemon center to keep him healthy, just in case of a lucky quick attack critical.
I planned on saving it for Raichu because I would need my strongest moves for it and didn't want Saw 2 getting hurt before Raichu. What a waste.
Used Cain and a few psybeams later, Lt. Surge was was begging for mercy.

Red now knows thunderbolt as well. When I can get my hands on a thunder stone, it will be evolving. I'm not some punk bitch who doesn't want you to change!

Hopefully we can make it through rock tunnel with no problems.

anyway everything is set up (traded all my legendaries from white to black) after work (leaving in 10 minutes) I'm starting my Nuzlocke White challenge :thumbsup:

Haven't had much time, but making some more progress now!

Just killed a wild Ekans, because I don't want a gay-snake hitting on the rest of my team. That was just before Rock Tunnel. Now I'm inside the tunnel and found a Geodude first up. Tried my hardest not to kill it, but once again I failed. So no new team mate. This is beginning to be a problem.

I'm also at the stage where regular trainers are garbage in comparison, but boss trainers are ridiculously powerful. Will have to try and stay motivated to train, since I only made it to the 4th badge last time.

Before then, we have to make it to the end of Rock Tunnel though!

Nice, some punk who was wearing shorts taught Saw 2 Rock Slide. We decided dig was a terrible move and holding him back, so replaced it for that.

Fuck yeah, I think Saw 2 was a bit angry with my decision. First it tried to learn rage, but I wasn't having that shit. Then in his fury, he evolved. Good man.

And now I'm through the tunnel. Get ready Red, you're up next on the evolution table!

More good news! Finally I didn't kill the first pokemon I saw. Between Lavender and Saffron I ran into a Pidgey at level 20. A single tackle from my weakest Pokemon, Pious, left it in the red.
I named her Kiwi, because that is a flightless bird, and I intend on releasing her after Zippo evolves into a Charizard and can learn Fly.

Lame, another Pidgey was the first I found between Celladon and Saffron. Just killed this one.

One thunderstone later, Red is evolving! Fuck you Ash. Pikachu can suck it. I'll join L.T. Surge with a bad ass Raichu.
