Bought my brother 4 boxes of Pokemon Evolutions XY. 36 packs per box.

They were discounted to $70 Canadian each (~$50 USD).

He specifically wanted re-release cards (nostalgia).

Little different. I have 2 the Pre Release XY Boxes. The tourney ones you had to get.

Inside: 23 Card Evolution Pack (1 of 4 Promos)

and 4 TXG: XY - Evolution booster packs

*Edit - Price at the time was $30 USD. But you had to play with the cards you received in the box. But I went to another location and just bought the Box itself.

So - for what you got, is a heck of deal. But again, if sealed. People are known to weigh, open and reseal. I have gotten burned a few times that way.

Thanks glad to hear the deal was good. Whole point is just to own Gen 1 cards primarily with my brother (maybe a touch of Gen 2/3 but I was in grade 4 when original cards came out, so that’s what I recognize as Pokemon)... just for fun between us, not playing with anyone else really.

I can link what I want. I’m not advertising. Been on this site long time. Was trying to see if they’re legit, in terms of sealed boxes.

Collection is basically all originals without shadow borders, and then some other ones. Will be expanded to a bunch of evolutions XY and some from other sets a bit.

Current collection is playset of every original card, playset of every fossil card, a lot of some cards just after that, each of the legendary bird battle decks, one of the mewtwo battle deck, one Pikachu battle deck, and of course the four evolutions boxes coming in.

He opened two full art mega charizard ex.

And a few other full arts.

We have I think bout a 2000 card lot to add to our japanese collection. Just uncommons and commons. Have a lot of the shining cards (Shining Charizard/Raichu - etc.) Also the VS sets and E reader cards

We'll have to order a bunch of singles online though. We're ordering very specifically just cards for a closed meta (just us in the house, and primarily focused on original 151).

We'll be ordering about $100 in singles (charizard ex, venusaur ex, mega venusaur ex, etc), to get sets of stuff. Mostly things from the Evolutions XY and Generations XY sets, and then a couple things from outside of those.

He opened a lot of good stuff. I'd say he got his money worth, but out of 4 boxes we didn't get enough venusaur or blastoise / etc. Lots of charizard, pidgeot, megas, breaks, etc. Lots of full arts.

That's a big collection you have. I'd love to play Pokemon & Magic, but each is too expensive, and there's no ideal player scene. My preference is Magic, followed by Pokemon. It's fun playing with the new mega cards (not against competitive decks), but I do feel like strategy is missing... the old blastoise was interesting, the new one just does damage. Feels that way for a lot of the new cards. We're designing a modified rule set, so original cards get double health and double damage, trying to keep things true to the cards with as few rules as possible.
