Since Pokemon Go came out?

I bought a full set of original cards for my older brother about 4 or 5 years back. A playset of absolutely everything in the original set. Paid just under $200.

He's not selling, but I'm curious if the value has shot up at all. I have seen a lot of ridiculous articles clickbaiting, and ridiculous ebay listings, but those don't say much.

Nope they have not shot up in price, just false info on those articles.

It's certainly worth a lot more then $200 but I'm sure you're aware of that already :p

I think this may be debatable... As I was actually buying some Pokemon cards/looking at full set listings before Pokemon go and after. Has the actual value gone up? Eh not really BUT are people willing to pay more for certain cards since release? Absolutely.

I'm going by actual current bids/last sales - not just random postings with no buyers with interest.

Example... Before release it was common to see the booster packs for a reasonable price. Now people are actually shelling out 40+ per pack. That, imo, is insane and the jump went from what? 25-30 ish to 40+? After release. The app did have an effect in certain areas because demand of people wanting the nastalgic feeling of having those cars again shot up. I think the demand has since dwindled back down but last I checked the prices remained the same for now.

Note: that's just one example...

I think there is a website that sells first 151 pokemon in a binder. I believe the price was 300 from the top of my head. I'll look em up. Tcgtrader is a good place to find the price of specific cards.

No one on this forum knows the rate at which a Pokemon cards value changes. I personally have almost the entire 150 as first editions and I wouldn't sell the cards for the highest grade pussy you could find on this planet. I'm the original professor oak and I don't have time for all this shenanigans so be good to my Pokemon or you might just find that the golden dragon that lives within me might get just a little bit upset. Thanks Digimon

If you play the tcg in person you would see the value of the cards rise and drop. There has been a slight rise in price of old cards since the release of Pokemon Go. It is mostly people trying to but their childhood back .
