Any ideas/suggestions?

Tried Andor's Trail, didn't care for it. Fallout Shelter is lame as fuck.

Also offline/single player would be a req.

android or IOS?

"dark sword" is ok
"fantasy chronicles HD" seems to be decent...
"Hearthstone" for a card game of course
"Magic the Gathering Puzzle Quest" I just started playing and really like.
"Plant war 2" is a moba style its pretty cool.

I don't know many offline games for Android, why don't you try to download a GBA emulator?

You'll find awesome RPGs there, like:

- Lord Of The Rings
- Golden Sun 1 2
- Breath Of Fire
- FInal Fantasy
...
