It definitely takes awhile, it's fun though.

Fastest way to level up is running campaign stages, optimal to run brutal 12-3 for more silver gain or brutal 12-6 for slightly more exp gain.

I'll offer 100fg per 10 levels. Once you hit level 30 I'll raise it to 200 every 10 levels.
