I have a family clan and most of us have alt bases to help with war, but we have a few garbage attackers lol. I just hit level 90, after I built a few defenses for th9, I was going the th8.5 route for a while, my troops are comming along nicely, and I almost have 90 level 8 walls done. However two wars in a row I was 3 stared so I felt a need to add the archer tower, tesla air defense and wizard tower. Still holding off on then xbows. I want to keep the war selection down still.

Yeah no xbows would be best. Best rule for xbows is 15/15 level 1, 20/20 level 2, and 25/25 level 3. Unless your clan has the ability to 3* all th9s I would stick to those levels as close as possible to help them out.

The only one able to 3 star th9s is myself. Other 2 guys 1-2 star( normally 2). I use either gowiwipe or goho attacks pending base style. I normally get matched with lower end th9s with th8 defenses plus 2 xbows or some sort.
