So many different attack strategy's and you actually need to plan attacks out to 3 star.
Th8 is simply Dragons + Loon CCs = 3 Star.

2x Lightning and 1earthquake?

2 rage 1 heal 1 poison

That's only toward the people who abused the game and lost a ton of loot creating that army lol. 3 stars in raids don't matter unless you are warring. And when I was th 8 and 9 there were no wars back then.

For th8 once troops are maxed gowiwipe or gowipe are strong and so is goho.

Th9 I'm using gowiwipe and i had some major success with it. I can started upgrading my troops again soon for th9. Can't wait lab is the last piece of the puzzle. Camps spell and cc are all done.

Yeah th8-9 farming was/is good

Warring is the only point of CoC.
If you play just to win defenses and level up... you must be very bored.

GoHoLoon> for me at Th9
Once I get my Valks up in level I'll have GoVaLoon to fall on depending on base design.
GoWipe/GoWiWi is fun but chances are with that you're only going to get a 2 star.

Once I max out my loons I'll start using them more. Still pre stages of th9
