You don't have to build any new defenses, or upgrade your pre-existing, but I would go ahead & get your X-bows to lvl 3 asap, but to each their own.

Dragons and Hogs aren't used very much @ TH 9 tbh. I sometimes used what some called "surgical hogs" which was a mini golem wiz witch/pekka attack with hogs/heal spells, but even then you had to have level 4 golems. I'd maybe max Loons 1st, as they get a huge bonus at level 6 & allow you to use LavaLoon/Loonion attacks. Then maybe golems to 3-4, Pekka to 3, witches to 2, etc.

Pekka level 3 is th8, gowipe is just not a good attack past 9 if you want 3 stars. It's made for a 2 star, where lavaloonion and loonion are 3 star attacks at th9. I am pretty comfortable with dragon attacks right now so I'll be sticking with them until I can loonion at th9
I will max my bloons too, they would be priority.

At th9 upgrade this is my priority list

Queen (would have immediately anyway)
Xbows
Lab upg
Spell upg
Cc up
Walls to th8 level.

Ok so this war I attacked a base with 2 hounds 20 loons and rest minions and I only got 1 star,
I'm pretty confident I could have 3 stared it with just loons and minions so idk how the hounds would have held me back any ideas? Idk what I did wrong I'm new with hounds. Lol

It's hard to say without seeing a replay tbh. How many minions did you use ? Did you lure out the cc ? What level are your loons/hounds/minions ?

I lured the cc with hogs from my cc
I had 2 hounds 20 loons and 25? Minions
It took all my minions to kill the dragon in the cc pretty much though.

That's way too many minions. I actually normally only bring a few minions for clean up and go with a strictly LavaLoon attack. (More hounds/loons) & I also always use at least 3 Hounds. I'm not aware of what level your Archer Queen/Wiz are, but I use my AQ and 1-2 wizards to completely take out their CC troops, which has consistently been a max dragon with 3 max loons lately. 25 minions is a complete overkill/waste

First of all, that just isn't true. The majority of TH 10s in my clan, use GoWiPe for a 2 star war attack. Because unless you're a max-ish TH 10 with level 40 king/queen, you're not going to 3 star any TH 10. You're assuming war attacks for TH 9/10 consistently yield 3 stars,which is not the case, especially for TH 10s. Unlike TH 8, where you can comfortably 3 star the wide majority of TH 8s you come up agaisnt.



As a general rule, that's not true either. You make it sounds like GoWiWi has 0% chance to 3 star, while LavaLoon is an easy 3 star every time. Neither statement is true. Now while it is true that a LavaLoon attack has a higher potential for a 3 star, than a GoWiWi attack, however the margin for error is much, much higher. With GoWiWi (I prefered GoWiWi with maybe 1 pekka over GoWiPe @ TH 9, since you can have max level witches,2, but only get level 3 Pekka) it's simple, you pick what side you want to come from and go. With LavaLoon you have to carefully plan out and execute how & where to draw out the CC troops, what to use to effectively kill them, where to drop your hounds, where to drop your loons, where to place the spells, then hope everything works out and you're not stuck with a lvl 7 AD & max wiz towers & an Archer Queen to deal with as the last few defenses remaining. Higher margin for error. Plus, sometimes your opponents base is just going to be absolutely anti-air.

Unless their base was just asking to be LavaLooned, when I was a TH 9 I'd usually GoWiWi my equal for a guaranteed 70%-80% 2 star, maybe 3 if I got a little lucky, and use LavaLoon for my clean up attack, on a comparingly shitty, lower TH 9. Although I didn't have access to any dark spells, like poison or haste, which can make things easier for a LavaLoon attack.

On an unrelated note! I was considering maybe starting a CoC guild, since I don't realy play D2 anymore, thoughts ?
