You won't break shield if you search for an attack. And if you do attack, you wont break shield either. the first attack will cost you 3 hours from whatever time you have left from the shield so say its 16 hour shield and you attack, 3 hours will get knocked off and if you decide to attack again, the 2nd attack will cost you 4 hours. Then it goes 5 hours and 6 hours. So this is made for the casual gamer and harcore gamer.
Only catch to this is you need to deploy at least 50% of your troops to give a shield. Not sure how its going to work for those who get attacked by Super Queen. Imagine being SQ'd 4 times in a row and no shield be given cuz 6 healers and Queen wont qualify for 50% of your shield so you can basically get rekt and lose lots of resources and trophies.
The great part I see in this is now you cant control when you get attacked. So people will forget when their shield will break and there will be a lot more bases with pumps, mines, and drills to give out more loot rather than have to break into the core to get decent loot.
I like it, can't wait to see what other changes are made.
