How did Gfx artists like Beowulf create their popout sigs?
Seemed like the either used or created their own templates of the shape.. and added a drop down shadow to them.. and made them blend very well

I've searched for tutorials, but I have only seen basic ones with manual erasing/smudging of paint + sig

Anybody have good tutorials?

Pretty sure Beo uses custom brushes he made, which you won't find anywhere
There are probably no tutorials because 1) these "popouts" only seem to be a thing on this site and 2) the people who make really nice ones won't want other people knowing how to

You're better off learning basics of tagging and then applying it to popouts and experimenting with different things

aright, and the basic idea is Brush + Clipping mask + Drop down Shadow?

that's what it seems like lol

Erase a shape around the render, smudge if with a customized small brush
Add small and random splatter brushes

Clipping mask background and slightly erase the ledges
