Hi guys!
I need an information about USA standards paper formats. I come from Italy where actually the sipliest standards are A4 and A3, without going through all the other sizes used in typography. So I noticed that here in USA the "letter" A4 is actually 216x279 (approximated) instead of our 210x297. I was wondering if you use the 210x297 too. Do you also have an alternative for the A3? (that in Italy is 297x420)

My purpose is to understand what is the best format to make a résumé and a portfolio.

Thanks!

Imo you should go with american standards, 21x29.7 is not so "popular" anymore, and the paper is expensive aswell. Europe go slowly with the others. Dont know about A3, where i work, we do it 30 x40.

Okay, I see. Strange cause in europe we use these formats only.

So, if you want to print a portfolio, on a bigger format than A4, where would you do it? I mean, what's the most popular in american typography?

Maybe I should look for a typography here in Chicago and ask to them...

Thanks for the info!
