his midsection is completely black and shoulders are illuminated, creating a false/fake lighting effect.
you have almost no focal point and your render of the guy is out of position completely, he should be closer to the center of your sig, or atleast have his other arm in the shot.
your name is a different shade of grey then your guild.

It's really dark.... I'm new aswell, but I have gotten a lot of compliments on my work, so take advice from me with a grain of salt, but I would work on your text and try to change the darkness. Text really makes or breaks an image >.<


My current sig was my first ever, it's not so great >.< but I'm looking for advice too... I've since made maybe 20 sigs and people have been offering to pay me since my 2nd one. My best advice is that people don't realize how much they really like simple things. I have a signature for another forum that is a white background with a faded render and a bit of grunge brush with some smudging and some blurring and a guy gave me 80 bucks for it >.< you can make amazing things with very simple techniques.

Unless people from the Graphic Design subforum (not the requests section) are complimenting you, their words are almost meaningless. 99% of people there have no idea what they're doing.
