This white outline around my image?

It only appears there when I save it, it's not actually there when I have it in Photoshop :(

well since it has no background the background in photoshop is grey/white and you dont always see those white lines.
are those letter cut out or did you make them yourself?

you need to save with ctrl+alt+shift+s then select gif at 256colors and then where it says "matte" select the color of your d2jsp background and save it :) others may still see the white outline but at least you wont

if u use photoshop, this will give you the best result.. but if u do this u actually might as well just add a whóle background with the same color

So there is no way to completely get rid of it?
Why does it even appear in the first place?

Because .gif doesn't support half transparent pixels. But since your image has them on the outside, it puts a white bg color behind them so they're not half transparent anymore.
