Open your signature file (if you want the ava to match it)
take out the rectangular marquee tool (hit the key "m" )
Now crop a part of your signature ( just a little square ) -> this will be your avatar
Once you do that hit ctrl + c
Now start a new file with the 64x64 dimensions and hit ok
Once you have your canvas opened hit ctrl + v
Your cropped part of the signature should now be in the 64x64 canvas
Hold ctrl and left click to move it around
Once you have it set, hit ctrl + shift + n for a new layer
Then hit ctrl + a and go to edit -> stroke -> choose 1 black px
