i just dowloaded some software that converts files into different file types. for example it can change a .png file into a .bmp file

what im wondering is if i have a signature like my onw that is slightly oversized ( in kb ) what file type should i convert it to to make it smaller?

Saving as gif reduce size.. but also quality due to gif on has 255 colors..

and transperent stuff like shadows ready gets kill'd by gif ^^
