i used to know how but cant remember. rasterize the image or something? for example i want my current sig without the white corners.

you have to render the image via pen tool, lasso, magic wand, w/e tool you prefer. Just need to select the parts you do not want and use the eraser>erase background tool to get rid of selected area. when finished make sure to save as pngor gif as those are the only two file types that support transparency(i think).
