if im using a stock how do i change the color of just part of the stock? (im using photoshop cs4)

for example, i want to make this shoe white (helping a friend with something)



can anyone help?

mark the part you want to change press ctrl+m or b and play with it

or

make a new layer set it to color and paint in it at that parts you want to change the color

ty any other ways?

what he wants is for the shoe to be white and then the color fills up (i dont mean opacity) i mean like runs up through the shoe, can anyone help with this?

isn't that what is currently happening here?

i mean in a .gif animated

so i want it to look like its almost actually splashing into the paint
