Ok, so I am cutting renders using the polygonal lasso tool. Dot, dot, dot, dot, getting a good cut going, then WHAM... selection is complete, and of course it cuts through a part of the render.

I have NO idea why it is doing this, perhaps my mark/dot/point is too close to the previous one?

anyway...

is there ANY WAY to undo the "complete" selection and get to my last point/dot? Undo/CTRL-Z does nothing. Neither does Step Backward.

This is not the first time its happened, and its FRUSTRATING when you get halfway through your cut and BLAM... it makes the selection for you.

iso HELP! ^_^

edit: using Photoshop CS3 Extended if that makes a difference.

Oh, I probably am sometimes. But other times, I am not. I am thinking that I am clicking too close to my last point, and it "thinks" I want to finish the cut...

in order to get a nice tight cut, you have to click a lot, and fairly close in parts with high detail (such as hair)

also, it seems to happen more when i am zoomed quite far in (over 200%, usually 400-600%)

sooooo.... no way to go back once the selection is made? to the last point i clicked?

I know this probably sounds confusing, but someone who uses photoshop should know what I am talking about... not sure how else to describe it.

Try using the pen tool, much easier when you've gotten used to it IMO
Make your path then right click (making sure the pen tool is still selected) and choose make selection

Yeah, its just habit... I learned to cut renders using the damn polygonal lasso tool, and it just sorta stuck...

any good pen tool tuts out there (besides the ones on this site... seen them, not really liking them, looking for more in depth tuts)
