Please don't mind the green font color on classic game

I would just use the paintbucket to white out the grey, then delete the lines inbetween each section.

Is there a faster way to delete the lines other than manually doing it? as use brush and paint over it white by manually doing it

That would take like 2 minutes tops....
I'm pretty sure that's how they did it.
I know for a fact they used paintbucket to fill the grey. Cuz you can still see the grey inside the letter loops.
