How to make text editable for other options, like for croping/deleting some parts with eraser tool, or pathfinder? In photoshop you can rasterize layer type, in illustrator i cant find it :S I also red somewhere that Ctrl+shift+0, but this doesnt work for it

When u make a box, and u want little shine for it. U copy the box above original box, and make it white. After that you make other white circle/box above it, select both, and use pathfinder "intersect" tool, so it would leave half from original box white, changing transparancy of it, and you have white shine on it.

Question is how to do with it text?

I made a little sample pic to show what i mean..excactly same white box effect, only with text

Thanks in advance

what you want to do seems like it could possibly be achieved a number of ways though based off what you described i think you might want to use the "create outline" or "expand" function. in cs3 create outline is under type and expand is under the object menu. note that when you expand/outline your type that you wont be able to change what it says as it will have been converted to a vector with anchors.
