I'm thinking about starting to use those programs that people use to make sweet sigs.
I just wanted to know which one is the best to use for beginners, experts, etc.

the newsest version of photoshop obviously, which is Photoshop CS4 - however, I recommend you download the trial version at adobe.com before to make up your mind if it's really worth it.
doesn't have to be CS4, the other versions work generally good with my experience.

but if u want free software - download gimp. it has also a potential and u can make nice pieces with it too.

Yea... I heard photoshop is good for lots of stuff, is it user friendly and stuff? Cause I'm not familiar with these progarams as u might have gathered already

I just started yesterday using CS4 and the sig i have now is my first one. It's not the best but I'm still in your position, learning how to use everything.

I see, i guess i'll download the trial for PS CS4 and play around with it. =)

I'm about to get CS3 because all these guides seem to be using CS4 and it seems kinda different.. :[

the difference is that it's capable of using full power of the new generation computers (dual core proccessors, 64bit system etc) and for still 2d graphics - that's the only one worth mentioning
interface isn;t much different

i folowed a tut and made my first photshop sig.. its my current one ur looking at... ive still only had it for about 4 days... and ive got one i made today in my profile... the zelda one
