Just been mucking about on photoshop and I was wondering, how do I make a "Gradient Adjustment Layer" and a "linear Gradient Adjustment Layer"?

I'm using CS4.

On your layers pallete (if you don't see then press F7)
Click the button that is labeled "Create new fill or adjustment layer" and it looks like a circle split into black/white
Select gradient map and then choose your settings

Voila

Hmm, ok, I think I've done it correctly but what's a Linear Gradient Adjustment Layer?
