I have looked at a few tutorials, and i can't seem to figure out how to, like get a picture of like a guy and Just get him (none of the background) and just give him a different background?

i know its basic, but i have no clue how

either use wand or, when u make that mistake and not know what to do, press delete to make it go back to where it was left last.

do you see those 3 icons where the left one is pressed at the top left? im pretty sure you need the middle one chosen
