I need help with making text transparent using the gimp program , maybe a link to where a tutorial is.

Basically I want to go to my profile and have it transparent and let my writing stand out on the background if thats understandable..

In that thread the user made the text transparent with its background, im not sure how to do this.

Do you mean having a transparent background? So that the image is just the text

my quick tut:

1. file > new

2. choose transparent background, size and anything you want. Then click ok.

3. Type your text and do what you want to do with it.

4. Save as png. No jpg absolutely (it doesn`t work with transparency)
