Gimp is a Photo editing program similar to Photoshop, but it's free.
So I'm going to show you a
beginner sig tut.
Step 1. Open up a blank canvas, I used 325x150.
Step 2. Open up your layers menu (Ctrl + L)
Step 3. Make a solid noise cloud (Filters

Render

Clouds

Difference Clouds)
Click that then hit "Randomize"
You should have something like this by now :

Step 4. Make a new layer (Layer

New Layer)
Step 5. Make a plasma cloud (Filters

Render

Plasma)
Click that then hit "New Seed"
Step 6. Set that layer to Overlay in your layers menu
You should have something like this by now :

Step 7. Set it to Black & White (Colors

Desaturate) Based on Luminosity
Step 8. Find a Render!
Go to www.planetrenders.com and pick out a render.
Save it to your comp as whatever.png
(You don't have to make it whatever just .png at end)
Step 9. Open your render (File

Open

Whatever.png)
Step 10. Colorize your BG to match your render (Colors

Colorize)
Play around with it until you find something you like
Step 11. Make a new layer and paste your Render in there. (Copy + Paste)
Step 12. Make a new layer and paste your Render all over the place.
Step 13. Use Gaussian Blur (Filters

Blur Gaussian Blur)
Set it to about 20 Horizontal and 20 Vertical
Step 14. Set that layer to overlay.
Step 15. Make a new layer and add text.
(I just did font Trebuchet MS in 18pt)
Step 16. Set that layer to overlay and Duplicate that layer To make it look good (I did 3 duplicates)
Step 17. Save it and upload it.
Your Done!
