I have an existing photoshop file open as it is. When im following this tutorial it says: Now find a picture of the galaxy. http://images.google.com is great for this. Any photo will do. Once you have found the picture you want to use, insert it under the layer of the black outline.

Now.. every time i try to drag this image into the layer panel, or on photoshop in general, it makes a new seperate file? How do i make it so it just goes into the existing files layer panel?

Lol. You have to save the picture, then open it in photoshop, then you drag it from one canvas to another canvas.
