If you really gonna go into this spend some money on photoshop.
If you just want to try it out start with a freeware like GIMP.

You can find GIMP on google.

it takes years of practice to get good yes.

I don't think you still can get the free trial for adobe products under cs 4.

i can show u how to get CS3 for free.. pm me if u need it... and also planetrenders.net is a good place for renders AND tutorials also.. just search in the forums section... there are also many resources... phstudios is also a pretty good site... and ya so just fool around and get to know your basic tools and soon ull become a master
