Just wanted input. I can get photoshop CS3 fairly cheap but I was wondering how much better it was. Is it worth spending any money on when gimp is free?
Was looking for some people that have used both to tell me the strengths and weeknesses of each program.
I am going to use it for picture editing mostly but probably play around with sigs, etc.

GIMP is ok for beginners but PS is clearly worth the money

Yeah Photoshop Cs3 Extended is a really great program, I don't really know of any " weaknesses " of Cs3 except it can cost money.

If you have chance to get it do so you won't be disapointed. ( Shouldn't be anyways )

gimp is perfectly fine for beginners, but if you have the money for CS3 I'd go with it so you can start learning it (takes quite a while to get usto ;P [figure out cool tricks for it])

photoshop is much much better, you can create much better effects. worth the money but if u want PS CS3 for free pm me.
