so yeah, lets say this is a stock image I found



I currently only have photoshop CS3, and I'm curious as to how you can make the white BG transparent without having to sit there and manually erase every little pixel. Is there not a way where you can use the paint bucket tool to do transparencies, or some other way to make BG's transparent, assuming you only have a stock image like that, that already has the white BG in it.

could you explain more in depth where to find color range or magic wand and the steps i need to take with them?

Select > Color Range. Click the white and hit ok. If it looks crappy, play around with the settings.

This will never look as good as the pentool, but it will save a lot of time. wink.gif

€\ Forgot to tell you that you need to delete the selected area. Do this on a new layer btw, not the background-layer. Just duplicate the layer via. Ctrl + J.

it seems to be working but theres one problem, the tool is getting rid of the image and keeping the background.


edit: nvm had to use invert
