Hey, I recently have been messing around with smudge, trying to follow TONS of tuts today, but I can't seem to get the smudge right. I always seem to fuck it up, or it always looks crappy. Is there a certain way that you have to use the tool? Like only go 1 direction from the center? IT seems like if i hold down smudge and move the curser around, it just move stuff back and forth and sooner or later it just like makes a gap or something. its kinda hard to explain, but if you have any idea of what I'm talking about, I could use the help

Basically, I'm looking for some brush stroke help, which way can i move the mouse to make a smooth smudge.

Well, did you apply brush settings first?


Or you simply take a round brush or w/e and start smudging?

Make sure you have all your settings set properly (scattering etc)

Try using short strokes and Ctrl-Z if you don't like it.

I figured it out, I had the strength at 100 every time. I never knew u needed to change it. It was smudging way too fast, that was my problem. I just lowered then str. and it was fine Now I just need to practice.
