once i finsih animation which is simple opacity to text how do i save it

some one said save as gif but it wont work its makin me flatten layers and discard animation

Save for web > Save as GIF (either high or low quality) > go to an uploading site > pick the one that is a gif.

i havent looked at any tutorials or anything but how do you make animations (ur sig is awesome)
