What the difference between GIMP and Photoshop...?

I know photoshop cs3 is better but why? What makes it better?

And where can I download photoshop cs3 for free?

One, gimp is crap compared to photoshop..

Two, cs3 isnt free.

Three, cs2 is.

Four, cs3 isn't diffrent than cs2 for making sigs.
