been messing with it for about a day. here are some doodles of me trying to draw hair and an eye. it is shrunk down quiet a bit.
my hand is very shaky when i try to draw smooth lines and it is not quiet cooperative yet. i am starting to get a little more coordinated with the wacom but i still dont know how to draw.

I don't know what your previous drawing background is... But if you're serious about starting a web comic where there will be any organic beings, you'll benefit greatly by drawing human skeletons and then studying tissue/muscle-ature...

Basically like building blocks... If you have your skeleton down then your proportions will all be correct and if you have your muscle down it'll look natural... It's a slow process but one where the rewards of what you sow are great.

[edit] - There are also different size tablets... People that are seriously into drawing probably have the larger ones (6x8 +) whereas a beginner might start w/ a (2x5) because of the cost difference. If you feel yours is too small there are probably bigger.

thanks for the post. i know it would be profitable to do a bit more studying of the skeletal and muscular system but right now i am trying to learn photoshop and get used to the wacom. i need help learning to color and draw noses and ears because i tried and i am clueless.

i am using a 4x6" wacom graphics intuos 3 i think it will b good enough for what i want to do for now atleast.

as for my drawing background i used to draw a lot in elementry school and i was exceptional for my age. then in fifth grade my teacher accused me of tracing and when i told her i didnt she just laughed at me. it was in front of the whole class and it was pretty discouraging. until about 2 days ago i have not drawn since.

as for my comic i had a weird but interesting dream about 2 days ago. i then found my brothers wacom and decided i want to make a webcomic based off of it for fun and to help me learn to draw. i don't want to start drawing it until i am a bit more confident and i am now planning out the story and characters and lot and all that good stuff. hopefully i can start this summer.

here is my attempt at drawing myself. im not happy with the coloring at all :\
i think i will start trying to draw manga style today and maybe do some concepts for the characters.

Nice blending above =]
Just mess with your preferences,
and practice often to make your hand steadier.
Read lots of tutorials from deviant art.
