When I try to use to pen tool to outline an eye, or just anything in
general, it fills it with black.

I'll try to show you what I mean..



I know it's something ridiculously easy that i'm missing.
Yes, I am very new with Photoshop. :|

At the top of the screen, under the menus Window and Layer, there are three buttons. You have the leftmost one selected, which is the one that fills stuff in, you want the middle one wink.gif.

See those 3 squares at the top left?
Click the one in the middle with the pen - should work now.
Depends on what you wanna do though.

Use quick mask, its better, just press the quick mask button(second from down, under the b-w colorboxes), paint the areas you want to select, then press the quick mask button again, select inverse and new layer via copy. smile.gif

I was just trying to do some tut, to change eye color. lol
