when i select the first layer and press Ctrl + U nothing happens and there should appear somekind of a color menu???

When you've selected a layer with some color on, the hue/saturation window should open when you press ctrl + u.

it works for me lol.

i think layer should be painted or something done on it. imo it dont work on plain layer or if it dont work you can go layer new adjustmen layer hue/saturation

ye had layer open i made my text in it but when i pressed ctrl + u nothing happens :S

i dont think it works on text layer. you need to restarize it first
