alright i'm a n00b... how do i actually post an image into this post?

You've got the right jist of it. You copy the direct link to the image, and then put it between [img]and[/img] tags.
So this one would be:

However, that signature clearly belongs to someone else, so you're not allowed to wear it .

actually, i am making that for a contest, and it does not show up when I post like that... I am bentoons and the artist who made that signature.

This will be my last post here, in attempt to test on an image post:
