I am making the art for the cover of our school's spring supplement publication. The theme of the yearbook is "music"
But i have pretty much creative license to make it whatever i want it doesn't have to adhere to the theme of the book.
I already did the art for title page of the yearbook, i did kinda like an iPod style ad, edited a picture of my friend where he is standing in the front of a classroom with his bookbag on, kinda silhouetted with bright red background (red and black are our school colors) and an ipod.
So anyway back to the supplement, i would like for it to stick to the theme but that's a must.
here are my ideas so far:
Make a flower (spring) out of pictures of different colored musical instruments, and have the words Supplement and Spring2008 on either side of the "stem" in green writing, written and sized so they look like leaves. (i'll type on a path and mess with character sizing/thickness/spacing)
^ that's my favourite idea.
also was thinking about using this cool stock photo of a dj and replacing the vinyl records on the turntable with the two letters of our school, and having the words spring supplement coming out of the speaker looking like cartoon music.
would kinda silhouette him and think of a cool background.
lemme know what you guys think of if you have any other ideas!
thanks a bunch!!
