How do I feather a colored layer over a render to reveal the render with a faded look from the colored layer in front? I know this is pretty basic but I still dont know how to lol.
2nd Question: There is a c4d file in this person's profile at the bottom: http://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?i=359220
What do I do once its downloaded to my desktop since it is a rar. file I think?
-Thanks

Uhh, I don't know if this is what you're asking, but:
Try messing with the hue/saturation under Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation.
And to feather, you can get your selection with a marquee tool, then right click and choose feather and pick how much.

Do you have any examples of what your'e trying to do?

I think what he's asking, at least what I'm asking is how to make a picture from one layer look transparent on another layer that has a nice color/design to it.

Like, if I wanted the Christina Aguilera one to be slightly visible against the red background I posted a few days ago.

mess around with the layer opacity? or try slightly erasing with a ~65 pxs soft brush? o.o
as for the c4d, didnt really get what you meant there but still, you unrar that .rar file with winrar, once unrared open the c4d image in ps, drag it into your sig document or whatever and set the c4d layer you just dragged to linear dodge

ctrl+u click "colorize" slide bars to where you want them, hit ok, that will give you the color you want. Then lower the opacity on that layer in order to make it blend in more, or just try setting that layer to overlay or soft light....
