Ok so I know what tool to use to smudge, and I also know that you need to click on a part of a render or color that you want to smudge. WhaT i don't know is what direction should I go when smudging, and how far should I smudge, What I would really need is a video about smudging. Every time I try smudging it looks like shit (pardon my french). Any tips?

ummm. You want a general flow to the signature. So, choose a direct that looks good, and be conservative with your smudging. If you smudge too much, you will end up with a blob of brown or whatever color.
